remember that one time sir patrick stewart really wanted to play othello because othello is gr9
and so his solution was to do a racially flipped cast of othello and he hired all black actors for the rest of the story so he wasn’t being mr. all the time white dudes while at the same time providing opportunities not often available in theater for black actors to fill the stage, incl. an interracial relationship w. a black woman who was presented as desirable
without changing the original text and having “an increased emphasis on abuse against women”
…this was in 1997just throwin’ that out there

Morris is missing. He ran out of the house he was staying in at 17th and Bryant and is now loose in the Mission. If you see him, please, please send anything to my tumblr inbox or email me at foodsco at gmail.
Update: some people we ran into saw him running around near 19th and Kansas last night, up in Potrero Hill, but none of them managed to get ahold of him. We searched from 17th to 20th and from Vermont to De Haro and couldn’t find him. Thank you so much to everyone who’s already reblogged this, and for all the support in general. We’ve notified animal control and we’ll be flyering/searching all day. If anyone has suggestions about other things we should be doing, let us know. And please keep your fingers crossed for little Morris.

We tend to think animals are lower than us, but all the scientists in the world couldn’t design and operate a bumblebee’s wing. We can’t jump or run very fast, and we can’t carry vast weights like an ant can. We can’t see in the dark and we can’t fly except crammed in a noisy tube like sardines, which doesn’t count. Humans compared to animals are almost totally deaf, and we can’t smell a fart in an elevator by their standards. We are finite and separate, and neurotic, while the consciousness of an animal is at peace and eternal. We strive and go crazy to become more important. Animals rest and sleep and enjoy the company of each other. We think we have evolved upwards from animals but we have lost almost all of their qualities and abilities. The idea that animals don’t have consciousness or that they don’t have a soul is rather crass. It shows a lack of consciousness. They talk, they have families, they feel things, they act individually or together to solve problems, they often care of their young as a tribal unit. They play, they travel, and medicate themselves when they get sick. They cry when others in the herd die, they know about us humans. Of course they have a soul, a very pristine one. We humans are only now attempting with the recent rise in consciousness to achieve the soul that animals have naturally.

I’m brushing up my resume, and somehow I totally forgot that I was an ambassador for prospective students at the school of my dreams.
I forgot. How do I forget something like that? It was my dream school. I was shy, awkward, unaware of so much, overwhelmed by so much more, and close to cowardly, and I volunteered for this. I did this. I forgot. How did I forget? How did I forget something so monumental for me?
I really shouldn’t find some of these as funny as I do.
Oh no

“16-Year-Old Egyptian Scientist Finds Way to Turn Plastic Waste Into $78 Million of Biofuel!”
What Azza proposes is to break down the plastic polymers found in drinks bottles and general waste and turn them into biofuel feedstock. (This is the bulk raw material that generally used for producing biofuel.) It should be noted that this is not a particularly new idea, but what makes Azza stand out from the crowd is the catalyst that she is proposing. She says that she has found a high-yield catalyst called aluminosilicate, that will break down plastic waste and also produce gaseous products like methane, propane and ethane, which can then be converted into ethanol.
